About

A special exhibition of Japanese yokai art and objects — scrolls, woodblock prints, kimono and toys — at the Beitou Museum.

The Beitou Museum hosts a special exhibition on Japanese yokai (supernatural creatures), from August 1, 2026 to February 14, 2027. It shows picture scrolls and woodblock prints alongside kimono, netsuke, inro, board games, toys, dishes and other everyday objects, tracing how yokai culture has been reborn across eras, from folklore to manga and contemporary art. A local "yokai walk" in Beitou extends the theme into the neighborhood.

  • Two phases: Phase 1 runs Aug 1 – Nov 15; Phase 2 runs Nov 17 – Feb 14, with some works rotated in.
  • Hours: 10:00–18:00; closed Mondays.
  • Admission: NT$120 during the exhibition; group, student and senior discounts are suspended.
